Above calls were recorded at a spot I started using Spring of '10 about 6 miles from my house. Its an abandoned field on some state owned land. I think the trees surrounding this field give the Yellow-crowned Night-Heron's (YCNH) flight call a bit of an "echo" effect. Below, for comparison, is a YCNH recorded in flight during daylight at a nearby wetland.
